Crying Steel was born in Bologna in the spring of 1982, from the ashes of the Hard Rock group "Wurdalak". The founding members are Alberto Simonini (guitar) and Angelo Franchini (electric bass), to which were added Luca Bonzagni (voice) and in 1983, after several changes of line-up, Luca Ferri (drums) and Franco Nipoti (guitar). After their first demo, which already contains Thundergods and Agony, songs later re-proposed by the group, they are noticed by Beppe Riva of Rockerilla who inserts them in the compilation HM Eruption.
