The group was founded in Rome in 1996 by keyboards player Gianluca De Rossi and gets its name from Taprobana, the ancient denomination of Ceylon Island (Sri-Lanka), where Tommaso Campanella set the narration of his book "The City of the Sun". The group takes its inspiration by Symphonic Progressive Rock of the Seventies, which most representative groups were Genesis, Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson. More»
