Formed in 2011, the group has since received international radio airplay, nominations for "Best Up-and-Coming Band" and "Best Vocalist" (NEO Music Awards), and has appeared on several anthology albums. Over the years, the band has performed as an opening act for both nationally and internationally touring acts including A Hero A Fake, The Motorleague, Aviations, The Bunny the Bear, Marbin, and others.

This album is another well produced album from the band. It has a more heavy approach which can sometimes detract from the music. The guitars of John Mitchel are very evident in the mix with a more raspy heavy sound. Good album but they have done better.

The British land is rich in talented art-rock and progressive musicians, and although groups such as Yes and Marillion do not rank first in the UK charts, they still inspire young musicians to work in these styles. The Arena group can not be called particularly young, but nevertheless, it belongs to the last generation of progressive teams from the UK, being one of its best representatives.

arena-unquiet-sky-coverIt was a combination of ideas – I had decided to base the album on a short horror story by M.R. James called “Casting the Runes” – some people may have seen the old 1957 film version called “Night of the Demon”. We were looking for an album title and John suggested “The Unquiet Sky” even though he was unaware of my concept idea – as far as I was concerned, it fitted the mood I had in mind for the Album.

The band's first self-recorded/produced album was released on November 8th of 2013 and rapidly reached many like-minded souls. This translated into tens of thousands full album streams on Youtube. The album was adequately named 'ATMOSPHERES' and distinguished itself from the start with its polyrhythmic grooves drenched in dreamlike melodies.

1995 is the year it all begins. The first album of Arena was released, featuring Clive Nolan (keyboards) and Mick Pointer (drums), with Cliff Orsi (bass), Keith More (guitar) and John Carson (vocals). This excellent piece of work entitled Songs From The Lions Cage and released on Arena’s own ‘Verglas’ label, is very well received and a new progressive rock legend has been born.
