During his career in music Jimmy (Jim) Messina has been a major influence in creating the country rock sound, which bands as Eagles made world famous. He first became known to a greater public when working first as engineer and producer for Buffalo Springfield and finally bass player in the band. After they split Jimmy Messina together with Richie Furay in 1968 formed Poco (originally named Pogo).
