Easily among the best melodic rock / AOR albums appeared during the last decade, "The Usual Suspects" is fantastic. Joe Lynn Turner never has released a bad album, and this one is for me the best under his own full name.

For instance, the ultra hip "China Girl" is reminiscent of the "Speed of Light" period, while "Puerto Rico" and "on a Roll" are firmly in his lite-Latin thread which became overt on "Further Than You Know". "Gunblasters" is as close as he came to a real rocker, containing references to Camel chiefly in the lead guitars and drums, but also to the Alan Parsons/Keats axis of songs like "In Dreams" from "Seen One Earth".

This is a late 90’s AOR masterpiece!!!, filled with great vocals, great solos, amazing keyboard work, superb catchy melodies and songs full of passion. One of those records that you hear and say, the songs are not devastating but are really cool. Musically, this has all the hallmarks of a great AOR/melodic rock album, bordering on pomp.

Eurock is a short lived pomp/melodic rock group from Lund formed in 1982. Their debut album came out in 1984 produced by the band with obvious influences by Styx and Journey, with pompus keys, great harmonies and some memorable tunes.

Ice Water Mansion was formed back in 1978 by drummer Charlie Austin. The band's lineup of members had numerous changes throughout its early years and there is little documentation available to be able to tell who was playing at what times from 1978 to 1983. Some of the known members prior to 1983 included Charlie Austin, Jeff Gardiner, Matt Neu, Pudge Norton, Dave Burns, Hansiell Dunn, Joel Dodge and Jeff McCollumn.
