It's common enough for musical groups to invoke demonic imagery or sounds to give their music a certain counter-cultural toughness, a rebellion that recognizes no rules. Black Sabbath, an early innovator of this mode, opened their first album with the dark-sounding three note interval known as the tritone that set the mood for their occult-inspired lyrics to "Black Sabbath." The tritone, also known by the Latin expression diabolus in musica, has a unique sound, one that has been long been considered too dark, too mysterious, for certain kinds of music. Readers will most likely remember that Slayer (no stranger to demonic imagery and lyrics) named their albumDiabolus in Musica after this same musical interval, although they most likely didn't mind the mild controversy over the double meaning of "the devil in music." Spain's own Diabulus in Musica has finally turned the expression into a bold and memorable band name. Sure, they've changed the spelling a little, but the name continues to grab attention and brings to mind centuries of debate over the musical value of a mysterious interval.

The Wanderer, Diabulus in Musica's second release, is the follow-up to their successful debut Secrets (2010). Though relatively new, Diabulus in Musica is already establishing a large following, receiving awards for their performances, and gaining praise for their blend of symphonic metal with just a little bit of death metal. The Wanderer makes for a good sophomore release, one that builds on past successes and helps develop something of the energy that has given this band such a strong reputation. This is a band that has a well-established rhythm section. Check out tracks like "Shadow of the Throne" and "Allegory of Faith, Innocence, and Future" for examples of the backing quality of this group.

Listeners will also enjoy the vocals by Zuberoa Aznárez. She has a great range, and brings diversity and harmony to The Wanderer's overall sound. I think that Diabulus in Musica will continue to rise and should easily gain more fans in the coming years.

Despite the many strengths of The Wanderer, I was disappointed with the eclectic range of tracks on this album. I realize that heavy metal is changing and that the concept of genre is constantly being challenged by bands and scholars alike. Nevertheless, the range of heavy and slow songs on this album made me question just what overall impression Diabulus in Musica is trying to make. At times, they sound like a death metal band, but at other times they sound like an upbeat symphonic metal act. And then there are more confusing tracks like "Sentenced to Life" which sound more like something taken from a musical. I shouldn't fault experimentation, but I don't think this band has quite settled on exactly what they hope to do musically. With this one, I think the devil's more in the details than in the music. If you like good symphonic metal, The Wanderer is a good choice, but it left me more curious to know what this band will do next.

For a long time I wanted to create a theme about this young, but to already professional Finnish group) agree, already not so many groups play good ???? metal in style Iron Maiden, adding there a portion of modern sounding. Machine Men just one of such commands) on their early albums it is very easy to confuse with Mejdenami) but stupid plagiarism isn't present. Children play very competently and beautifully. They love ????. Sincerity in creativity is visible. Vocalist Antony sings very similar on Dickinson) amazingly similar!. The pure. The powerful. Places a hysterical vocal... Together with melodious ??????? it obeys fine) in group it is possible to tell there are no weak places. And ??????? the good suffice. Both it is a lot of drive. And ballads are... The best album at group I can just name last disk. On it growth of children is accurately visible. Many new ideas. Small leaving aside from pure ????... All the same excellent vocal Anthony. But it began to be guided by Bruce a bit less. . In general I advise to you ????????? to listen to these Finns) to all fans ???? should it will be pleasant... As almost all their albums at us left... These children slowly but surely go to an Olympus ???? metal

Nemesis formed way back in the last century in 1987, when life was simpler, and music defined who you were. After many years of absence they reformed, and in 2007 released the critically acclaimed Album "THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF METAL". Although this was a huge milestone for the band and contained some instant live favourites such as the title track and the feel good anthem "EVERYDAY IS A GOOD DAY (TO ROCK) the band were not satisfied and have spent the last three years writing an album that will by all rights define them amongst the bands that they so dearly hold sacred. Dio, Scorpions, ManOwar, Priest, Ozzy, to name but a few. With arrogance only acceptable if what they have achieved is truly remarkable, they have entitled their new opus "FOREVER IN METAL". Check out the tracks on Myspace and if you truly love your metal that's played with an appreciation of everything that has gone before

A three-and-a-half-minute YouTube clip featuring audio samples of"Circus Black", the fourth studio album from Finnish female-fronted symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN, is available below.

"Circus Black" will be released in Finland on February 29 via Spinefarm Records. The band's mainman, keyboardist and guitarist Tuomas Seppäläcomposed all ten songs for the CD and vocalist Heidi Parviainen penned the lyrics.

"Circus Black" features guest appearances by Tuomas Nieminen (ex-ADAMANTRATHRONE OF CHAOS), Nils Nordling (ex-DREAMTALE,ANIMAL HOUSE), Timo Kotipelto (STRATOVARIUS) and Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUSDIOYNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE). Nieminen and Nordling share vocal parts in the song "I Share With You This Dream"Kotipelto sings lead on "Cold Kiss" andJohansson plays a keyboard solo on "Crimson Flower".

Commented Tuomas: "'Circus Black' is the most impressive AMBERIAN DAWN album so far. Musically it represents the most sophisticated and most symphonic edge of AMBERIAN DAWN music. There's more diversity on this album than never before. This is the first time we used a real choir and we gathered some really excellent professional opera singers together to be able to achieve the best-sounding choir possible. This choir was conducted by Mikko P. Mustonen from Pathos Music. He also arranged the choir and orchestral parts.

"We managed once again to get some world-class guests on this album. So, the production is our biggest so far and the final polish on this album was given by Teropekka Virtanen (mixing engineer) and Mika Jussila(mastering engineer) at legendary Finnvox Studios in Finland.

"The whole band did excellent job with recordings. It was really awesome, that Kasperi [Heikkinen] recovered from his hand injury just in time (only a couple of weeks before the mixing sessions started) and he was able to play guitar solos on this album. Even in the fall it seemed that I andKimmo [Korhonen] would have to play all guitar parts by ourselves."

01. Circus Black (3:49)
02. Cold Kiss (3:31)
