Hard Rock
Glamor-gravestone color Traumatisme music from the early demos, so rare now, has become a distinctive "chip" of the rocker. More recently still quite friendly and open to thepress recently, the musician has decided in principle not to give any inervyu, allowingpeople to judge him only by his music.
“When The Pick of Destiny was released it was a bomb,” Jack Black (nay, JB) sings. “And all the critics said that the D was done.” This is true enough — after a surprisingly successful debut album in 2001, Tenacious D (Black and cohort Kyle Glass, a.k.a. KG) followed it up a few years later with a feature-length movie and concept album/soundtrack to the film, and neither film nor album were met with the same level of enthusiasm as the breakthrough. Black, of course, was hardly struggling for work — he went on to pursue a string of hit (and not-so-hit) movies, leaving The D on the back-burner for a while.

GREAT WHITE — Mark Kendall (lead guitar), Scott Snyder (bass),Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Terry Ilous (lead vocals) — has finished mastering its new studio album,"Elation", for a May 22 North American release (four days earlier in Europe) via Frontiers Records. The 12-song CD will mark GREAT WHITE's first effort with Ilous following the band's split with founding singer Jack Russell.
"This is a new birth of the band," Desbrow says. "I wanted to call the album 'Tabula Rasa', which means rebirth, but we went for 'Elation'because of the euphoria in the atmosphere. It's a fresh and healthier start than ever before. I'm like a kid in a candy store."
