If you want a dose of 80´s rock and classic heavy metal, you better check out Ammotrack´s new album "Come die with us" which is a really strong piece of work. The only song that is a bit different is the late 90´s modern rocker "Let your dream decide", but besides that one you´ll get powerful hard rock like the opener "Life is calling" or the heavy "Psycho bitch". The single "Living like an angel" is more melodic while "Fastlane" could´ve been an unreleased song by Kiss, if you´re into albums like Ratt´s Invasion of your privacy, Skid Row´s Slave to the grind or Kiss´s Creatures of the night - Ammotrack will be perfect in your CD collection.

Electric Mary, from Melbourne, Australia are no strangers to the music business, touring in 2009 with the likes of legendary Alice Cooper and Glenn Hughes, then in 2010 being the support act for Deep Purple. Talk about starting big. Yet they have only released a mere two albums (Four Hands High in 2004 and Down to the Bone in 2008) and released 1 single and 3 EP’s. Now on their third album release ‘Electric Mary III’ and it’s my first listen to these guys aren’t they lucky)...
An impressive riff for the first track ‘O.I.C’ and the vocals are quite delicious with the high pitched yet growly rock sound. The guitar solo suits the track perfectly with the ongoing up-tempo beat, which makes this track a winner. The extra solo after the middle section adds a delicious fruity sauce to the mixture. ‘Stained’ keeps on track at impressing me with the dirty deep riff to make you shout “Ooooooh!” and the drum section at around 2.20 is pure 80s class as well as the crazy guitar work pissing all over it!
“So Cruel” starts off with a led Zeppelin style riff with clear vocals over it then blasts with more heavy guitars reminding me of a 90’s Aerosmith feel. ‘Long Time Coming’ sounds a lot like the first two tracks which isn’t a bad thing necessarily for the fact that they are both cracking tracks but ‘All Eyes on Me’ stood out with its fast pace, crazy guitar work and the drumming on it is superb! The vocals equally as good with the group vocals in the chorus line. The intro to ‘Lies’ uses the same sound as the beginning of Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ but quickly changes into a not so bad little number. A repetitive riff and different vocals (a different bloke?) either way, still listenable. Another I wanted to mention is track 8, ‘Bone on Bone’ which sounds again like Led Zep with a helping of Whitesnake squashed into one sexy concoction. By the time ‘Waiting’ comes on my heads already rocking, with the cheesy yet likable chorus and the pubescent vocals it’s another winner.
Ending with ‘American Jam’ and even though having a more updated riff, got me a little bored half way through this one. Not the perfect ending to an almost perfect album...

It has been 40 years since ALICE COOPER pioneered shock rock and he is now focusing on pushing the boundaries of acceptability once more...this time on HALLOWEEN.
On October 31 and November 1 Alice will perform 2 very special shows at the ROUNDHOUSE with JIM ROSE CIRCUS and ZODIAC MINDWARP AND THE LOVE REACTION

The panel will consist of Alice himself along with Nicky Horne, plus others to be announced. Got to be honest, Wishbone Ash are not a band I have taken much notice of over the years. I interviewed ridiculously nice front man Andy Powell a while back, and I've probably heard some of their songs on the radio here and there, but that's about as far as my contact with the group goes.
So...I come to this album with few if any preconceived notions of what to expect. I know the band were one of the first to use twin lead guitars, I know they dabble with folk, prog, and soft classic rock, and I know "Elegant Stealth" is (amazingly) the band's 28th album, but that's about it.
The sound on "Elegant Stealth" immediately comes across like a modern take on 1970s prog with a big nod to uptempo bar room rock and laid back folk. In fact as the album plays through it becomes clear they don't like to stick to one style. It makes for a complicated but constantly fresh release that always leaves the listener guessing what's coming next. The musicianship is always good, but it occasionally reaches for the stratosphere with the way complex multi-layered segments are made to sound so simple yet so stunning.
Song wise, where to start? Every track offers something different so it's really hard to compare them like-for-like. I love the chorus in opener 'Reason to Believe', the funky bass opening of 'Big Issues'... and so it goes on. Each song has something interesting to offer, and it's a genuine pleasure to play the album from start to finish.
In Summation:
This is not an album to get the blood stirring, but it does feel like a properly coherent release from a band that really knows what it's doing. It's probably not something I'd listen to normally, but I'm glad I've had the chance. Fans of chilled rock with a twist would do well to check this out.
