In 1987 guitarist Alexey Belov, vocalist Nikolay Noskov, bassist Alexander "Big Sasha" Minkov, guitarist Jan Ianenkov, and drummer Alexander Lvov (formerly from Aria) came together to form Gorky Park. Stas Namin, a famous 70's soviet musician, became the band's manager. Because Gorbachev lifted the censorship, many underground rock bands, including Gorky Park, became able to receive more widespread popularity. Later that year the band left Russia for the United States in search of a record deal.
In the U.S. the band soon made some connections in the record business. One of the first people to take notice was famous guitarist Frank Zappa.Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora also helped them to secure a deal with Mercury Records.

Stairway to Hell, Ugly Kid Joe’s reunion EP, wasn’t scheduled to be released until June 5… but the band decided to release it a week early for whatever reason, so it’s actually out now. You can purchase a legal download here or stream it below.
I’ve listened to it and it’s… well, it’s not bad. It’s not great, though. It’s certainly a million times better than 1996?s Motel California, which was the band’s last official release — but it’s not nearly as much fun as either America’s Least Wanted or Menace to Sobriety, which remains the band’s high points. I’m still waiting for that feel-good album which I’m gonna rock all summer long… I don’t think this is it.

Guelder Rose, formed on 12th september 2003 are Alex 'Bnj' Marchetti (lead guitar), Silvio 'Fudo' Gratani (drums), Matteo Brambilla(bass), Stefano Raimondi (vocal) and Matt 'B-1' Brugnetti (guitar). The band members are very unsteady in the first three years of activity; despite this, the first lyrics see the light and the band start to share the first concerts. On 4th february 2006 the band released the first demo, called '4 songs from death valley' where intentional heavy metal influences can be noticed, but not clear because the line-up failed to give a precise genre tag. In the summer of 2007 remained just Ste, Teo and Bnj who engaged the new drummer, Mattia Ugg?. Violet Gibson is a newcomer from Italy. They released their first demo under the name of Last Vegas but before they started recording their debut album, due to some line-up changes – the addition of two new guitarists, they renamed themselves Violet Gibson.
Their sound is quite modern and more US oriented with elements from hard rock, metal, modern rock, rock & roll, classic rock & gothic rock (few ones). The production is actually good & modern as the album was mixed by Mike Bettali at MBS Studios and recorded & mastered at Studio 73 with the supervision of Riccardo “Paso” Pasini. There are some fine tunes here like: “Go Ahead”, “American Circus”, “She Feels Alive”, “In My Head”, “Forget about the Rain”, “I Wish I Could” & “From the Moon to Your Feet” (a wonderful atmospheric tune – the best of the album)… and generally they are presenting something which is OK but without it being
