I would call them a hard rock band with a few pop metal songs. There's a lot of edge on this CD but also some lushness at times. I think that any 80s rock fan would dig this one.

MSG was always under the radar, back in the day. I got hip to UFO (his 70's rock group legends)years ago and starting really digging Schenker's riffs and speedy guitar work. This is a "best of" their first 3 albums and well worth a used copy. There is a hint of cheezy synths in some songs (making it 4 stars), but 80's rock is the best and this cd has several instant classics.. the best being "Armed and Ready and Master of Illusion."
