Johnny Hiland (born January 18, 1975) is a legally blind American musician/guitarist.In 1996, Hiland moved to Nashville and worked as a session musician for country artists including Toby Keith, Ricky Skaggs, Janie Fricke, and Hank Williams III. Meanwhile, he played with the Don Kelley Band at Robert's Western World. Hiland signed with Steve Vai's Favored Nations label as a solo artist.

Instrumental rock fueled by Latin beats and explosive guitar. "Heroes and Villains" was recorded in my bedroom in about seven hours. I actually had all the songs written by January of 2002, but I decided I hated them all so I deleted them all and started over. I then spent the next six months or so writing new songs. Then, on a cold October day, I sat down and recorded all the guitar parts. Finally, I took the entire mess up to Binary Studios in Bellingham and had it mixed/mastered.
