Vanja is a solo instrumental artist. He was born in 1982 in Bosnia and he grew up in Switzerland. Inspired by metal and rock guitarists Vanja began with the guitar playing in 1998. He was giving guitar lessons for about three years. Later in 2008 he began to work on his first album Vision that was released in 2010. The music is modern instrumental metal/rock with different influences. Every piece on the album is different and full of catchy riffs and melodies. Vanja’s music is for sure not typical instrumental rock music because his compositions are driven by emotion and shredding is not often to hear. The second album The Awakening will be released in 2013. Vanja is also featured on the Guitar Wizards Compilation with George Lynch, Jake E. Lee, Chris Poland and Others.

Considering they have never had a "hit", it's interesting that Liberty N Justice has put together their second "Best Of..." package.  However, don't let the fact that current radio stations are ignorant of quality melodic hard rock make you think there is no reason to pick up this excellent collection because that would be a big mistake, especially for people just now getting into the band.

I followed with much interest the career of Marcus Jidell (once JEKYLL & HYDE or ROYAL HUNT’s lead guitar player), since his days with the ex-TALISMAN guys Pontus Norgren (HAMMERFALL / ex-THE POODLES) and Jakob Samuel (now successful with THE POODLES and also ex-JEKYLL & HYDE) in their short lived project, under Tolkien’s influences called THE RING and their only album ”Tales from Midgard” (2004), now that he found a great  and stable spot, at the right of Tom Englund in the latest, fresh line-up incarnation of EVERGREY, it was time for him to reveal his inner six strings soul, and in the same time to fulfill the fantasy and the dream of each and every guitar player: a solo album.
