In Brazil, sometimes good Hard Rock bands appear, but the greater part of them use bands like MOTLEY CRUE, GUNS 'N' ROSES and SKID ROW models. Just a few of them go in a way lighter, in direction of a more AOR/Party Rock sound. And DESERT DANCE, from São Paulo, is one of them, and their first EP, “Open Secrets”, is a good sample of what I mean.

'Your Hearts Running Wild' has got handclaps galore and some very nice melodies and guitar licks. Kicking back to the '70s and a whole cool gang of bands as influences there was no way these cats were going to fail me. Don't think it's all retro chops, mind; oh okay, maybe mostly it is but there is an innocent cheeky charm about songs like 'Don't Worry About Me' and the use of handclaps is magnificent and makes this greasy tune about a 100% snottier...

Joe Bouchard is a co-founder of the world famous band BLUE ÖYSTER CULT. In the 70s and 80s he played, sang, recorded and wrote songs with BÖC for Columbia Records. He retired from Blue Öyster Cult in 1986 but the legacy lives on. Today he plays with Blue Coupe, The X Brothers and other bands. More»

Broken is a hard rock/metal band from Sacramento, California. The band was formed by guitarist Mark Johannessen (Fetish Underground and MyMe) and lead vocalist Jesse Juergenson (Fetish Underground and Dara Wild), and later joined by bassist George Ivanov and drummer Robbie Furiosi (Frank Hannon Band). The group's 2016 self-titled debut release co-produced by Brian Wheat of Tesla reflects the eclectic hard rock backgrounds of the group from melodic rock to heavy grooves of metal and industrial.
