UK vocalist and guitarist Jon Amor, formerly of the award-winning British band The Hoax, has joined forces with Dave Doherty (guitar), Chris Doherty (bass) and Simon Small (drums) to form Jon Amor Blues Group. Drawing inspiration from th blues greats of the past like Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, as well as contemporary acts like The Black Keys and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the group's sound is powerful and raw, and has been opening doors for them across Europe ever since their debut album was released.

Amor returns to his collaborative roots with JABG. The band's chemistry and showmanship both on record and on stage is receiving critical acclaim both abroad and in the UK. The guitar playing, which brought Amor to prominence with his first band during the nineties, and fresh energy from JABG is captivating audiences wherever they take to the stage.

Based in Leicester, UK for over twenty years, Dawson Smith is originally from South Wales and has a well earned reputation for fronting great bands and rockin' venues all over the UK and beyond. Dawson first made his name as the frontman / songwriter of blues rockers The Healers during the 90's.

Following The Healers split, Dawson recorded two successful solo albums, Valley Boy (2002) and The River Road (2005). Plenty of gigging followed, playing with a flexible band line up. In 2005 Dawson put together THE DISSENTERS with the intention of forming his dream 'road band' able to deliver the type of drivin' swamp blues, roots and Americana bar room rock & roll that has always been the backdrop to Dawson's distinctive songs. JW plays in the tradition of blues greats like Albert Collins, Lonnie Mack, Ronnie Earl, and Jimmie Vaughan. He can rock, too, although rock/blues is not his thing. JW wrote most of the tunes on this new album. Roy Orbison and Little Milton are listed as the authors of the two remainders. There's a new twist to JW's music on 'Seventh Hour'. Without ever sounding old-fashioned or even outdated, JW is mixing his blues roots with rock guitar sounds from the 1960s. Also, no guests on this album, which is rather surprising. On previous releases, Kim Wilson, Hubert Sumlin, Little Charlie, Junior Watson and Canadian blues/rock star, Colin James have been sitting in. This set of songs was recorded at JW's home with his regular band. The results are a compact sounding set of great tunes, opening a new chapter in the musical journey of a promising young blues man.

While keeping one foot firmly planted in the roots he came from, he's crossing boundaries making his music compatible to a younger generation of music fans.
He believes that “appealing to a younger audience is the most important way to ensure the evolution of blues-based music.” JW is well on his way!

The group was founded in Britain in 1967. From the earliest days of the establishment, it is the undisputed leader guitarist and author of most of the songs Kim Simmonds (Kim Simmonds, b. December 5, 1947, Newbridge, South Wales).

At the age of 13 years, Kim Simmonds began learning to play guitar. The greatest influence on him: Howlin 'Wolf, Freddy King, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters.
Their debut album "Shake Down" was released in the UK in September 1967.
