The famous "Stray Cats", which, in addition to Brian, included Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Roker. The team quickly conquered the European market, and after that the American one also submitted. When the Stray Cats were just starting out, Brian, along with his brother Gary, had a little time to participate in the new wave project "Bloodless Pharaos".
Once, his neighbors threw a party where the company played wind instruments. Brian, passing by, was jokingly invited to drop everything and join them with his guitar. The seasoned rock-a-biller did not lose his face, but played his parts as it should. Moreover, shortly after that party, he formed a 17-piece big band called the "Brian Setzer Orchestra". At first it was planned to play only a few concerts, but after the second performance of "BSO" the group thundered throughout the district.
The peak of popularity of "Brian Setzer Orchestra" was reached with the release of the album "The Dirty Boogie", on which the listeners were offered an incendiary cocktail of swing, rockabilly, country and blues. The disc received two Grammy awards, and its circulation amounted to over two million copies.
Another "Grammy" "BSO" grabbed in 2000 for the performance of the famous composition of Duke Ellington's "Caravan". Be that as it may, but soon Brian decided to return to his rockabilly roots and, having reduced the format of his group to a trio, released a couple of albums: "? 68 Comeback Special" and "Nitro Burnin' Funny Daddy". However, this did not mean the cessation of the activities of the "Orchestra" itself - Setzer "re-profiled" it a bit and undertook to record all sorts of Christmas songs like "Jingle Bells" under the brand name "BSO" ..
