Blue Сheer is an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco and named "after" a variety of LSD. Blue Cheer became one of the leading bands of the California psychedelic scene, but differed from other representatives of their direction with a weighted sound and radical experiments with sound, as a result of which they were subsequently ranked among the pioneers of acid rock, heavy metal, stoner rock and grunge. Jim Morrison of The Doors called Blue Cheer "the most powerful band I've ever seen."
