This quintet from Lillestrøm makes a clear and good debut album, "Muriel's Dance" on Ovis Records. It is quite clear where the band puts the list, and should probably be something for everyone who likes a little sludge, metal and rock. The music itself is probably not as exciting for the seasoned, perhaps, but there are some things that pull up on the execution. Among others it has scope to Daniel (vocals), which makes up well for the album. The jump from a little more Phil Anselmo on the rock-sections, and second, maybe Dan Svanøe the softer, shows that it does well to have some experience in the field vocalist. I assume that this is something the singer (s) will continue to stay focused on, since it did well at several places during this album.
Rhythm section is to be clear and good, it's just right with both drums and bass to be in this particular genre and it's not anything special advancement beyond. Like the rest of the bass sound that whips smoothly on 1/1 songs. The guitars are a fairly important role holder when playing this particular type. It is important not to end up in a too "laid back" path which unfortunately makes the guitars at times. I had hoped that the drive and life had stretched a little longer-at least since there are two of them present in the sound. In a way it gives the guitars a feeling that one has heard it before, so these must be separated or separated a little more.
The conclusion is just basically that the band deserves some cred for well done debut. There are several tracks that stands out, including the "Year of the Crows," "To A Place Called Home" and "Voyage of Pain & Death." The album can be purchased at Ovis Records and it should be noted that the vinyl comes only in 250 copies:
