Manchester-born Mark Reeder fell in love with West Berlin and moved there in the late 1970s, spending the next few years tirelessly documenting the action on Super 8.
“B-Movie: Lust and Sound in West Berlin” is both his video diary and a retro collage of an unpredictable, chaotic city sparkling with infectious energy, which very rarely slept and which is no longer and will never be. Skinny Blixa Bargeld, Nick Cave, Tilda Swinton and many others; parties, clubs and fights, punk, avant-garde and techno; substances, lawlessness and a wall that has not yet been destroyed, behind which eternal despondency reigns - all this from the words of the participants through the eyes of an insider. The sound, the picture, the characters - everything is done so authentically that it seems as if Berlin in the 80s is already outside the window.
