Steve Whitney was formed in 1978 and was the creation of Guitarist Christian (WHITNEY) Wiedemeier and Bassist Rolf (STEVE) Schlup. They started the band in their home town of Würenlos Switzerland, playing the first gig at the now famous Würenloser Rock Happening. The first release was the single Rolling down the Road, followed soon after by the second single Judy in Disguise, featuring Michael (Heddy)Hedderich (Guitar) and Scheffi on (Drums).

here’s the hard to find (over € 100 for a used copy) of ROCK CITY ANGELS‘ “Young Man’s Blues” only remastered version by Gott Discs. Originally appeared in 1988 on major label Geffen, this was the very few times that a debut band got a double album released.

This is much better than his second CD and is really a very nice collection of melodic hard rock. Definately recommended as there are very few poor tracks here.

totalWhen Total Eclipse was formed in the early '90s, some of its members had impressive resumes. Lead singer Bernie K had been with the superb all-black heavy metal band Sound Barrier, while guitarist Victor Johnson had been a member of the fun and slightly less obscure Bus Boys. This metal/hard rock release -- sort of Living Colour meets Mother's Finest meets Led Zeppelin -- isn't as original as either Sound Barrier or the Bus Boys, but it isn't anything to be embarrassed by either.
