Formed back in 1999, Lord 13 keeps the mean spirit of rock music alive. Hailing from Athens, Greece, this is a band that brings us back to the glorious days of Monster Magnet & Orange Goblin. Dirty, manly stoner/ hard rock with a heavy, classic 70's vibe. Think Cowboys & Aliens, Honcho, Roadsaw,...
Lots of great tracks on here, featuring a mighty guest appearance by Ben Ward (Orange Goblin). Another solid album & lovely discovery to start a rockin' 2012. Get this one (& others) for free at the Lord 13 website below. Physical copies of "2013" are coming soon (vinyl/ cd).

Under the Scytheby RAM is a very short single containing two songs. So what is the verdict? I love it. This is a great obscure band release. They will never gain gold or platinum status but this is pure underground genius here. I hear some KING DIAMONDand some old 70’s JUDAS PRIEST. Both songs are upbeat and retro sounding, in a good way. I really wish there was more to review. Their label is awesome. Check out the band lists on High Roller Records. There are some seriously great underground/obscure bands on it. The bands are mostly power metal. This is a great discovery for me. I eat this stuff up and am going to be clicking on band logos all night long.
The two songs appear to be power metal, and when the full length CD comes out, I am all over it. Finding hidden gems like this is always fantastic. You never know when it’s going to happen when you’re sent hundreds of bands, many of them totally unheard of names. This is one of those cases where it turns out to be a positive. I cheated and went to their Myspace page so I could hear more than just two songs and I was rewarded with more KING DIAMOND like vocals and some very good up tempo drum beats. The vocalist also growls a little, and he does a very good job of it. It’s not overkill like so many bands with dirty vocals. This is heavy and it really rocks. Check out their Myspace page.
This is an independent release, so don’t expect perfect production values because you’re not going to get it, but it is excellent for what it is. RAM is a very pleasant surprise.
Sweden's old-school metallers RAM are releasing their third album "Death" on 30 January 2012 but you can hear this disc in its entirety here at Terrorizer first!
ANUARY 20TH, 2012 RELEASE: In 2010, RAM went back into the studio to record their yet third album called "Death". Their sure success after 2009's AFM Records release "Lightbringer" really landed the band on the map with the metal masses. This time they worked with producers Per Stalberg and Olle Bjork to create their best album to date by far. Live shows as support for Swedish extreme black metal band Watain followed as well as destroying some festivals. Now in 2011, the band has signed a Worldwide deal with the iconic metal label Metal Blade and the world trembles in fear before the release of the metal behemoth that is Death. RAM are back! Necks will be broken! HEAVY METAL TYRANNY!

In an age where technology allows musicians to rely heavily on post-production, vocal shifting and "studio-magic," it's a great relief to pop in Gaslight Street's freshman release, Blue Skies for Fools, and hear the honest sounds of rich guitar, scratchy vocals and notable improvisation. These nuances lay the foundation for a bright future, and are spread throughout the record, offering a glimpse into the heart and soul of this group from Charleston, SC. Fans of early Black Crowes will find much to connect with in this young band with such potential.
With heavy emphasis on vintage keys sound, Jason Stokes uses organ and Wurlitzer to provide the melodic backbone for Brooks DuBose and Frank Nelson to compliment with drums and fat-bottomed bass, respectively. Rounding out the group's sound is singer-guitarist Campbell Brown, whose unique vocals and emotional stories, like first track "Skin Deep," offer something missing in much of today's music.
From start to finish there is a progression of intensity, culminating with "Black & Blue Salvia," which has a really great hook throughout the song that double times in the verses. One can imagine this song opening up to a nice long exploratory jam in concert. The final and title track brings it back home with a nod to the classic Southern rock sound, featuring an acoustic setup and catchy chord changes. All they need is to attack the road hard, spread their music to the masses and there's no way that Gaslight Street could ever run out fuel.
