Quebec, Canada-based metallers AETERNAM recently entered Badass Studios with engineer Jean-François "Jef" Fortin to begin recording their new album, "Moongod", for a late 2012 release via Galy Records.
Commented the band, "The album will contain nine songs plus a short and wicked intro. As far as it goes, there's still a lot of blast beats and brutal stuff, but the music is way more epic and melodic, really more groovy and let's say... dangerous? Lyrics deal a lot with religions (again), but the focus is more on pre-Islamic rites and actual stuff that is going on right now in the Middle East. Nevertheless, there's still some new ideas and concepts; we do even have a song that talks about Mayan culture! Crazy stuff!"

Brazilian drummer Heleno Vale returns with the third part of his Soulspell metal opera, Hollow's Gathering. For details about the concept, I'll send you once again to the Soulspell website. Be warned, however, as of this writing, it has not been updated to include details of this part of the story. What remains the same is Vale's musical approach, melodic heavy and power metal, and the involvement of a great many players. These include Tim “Ripper” Owens [ex. Judas Priest, Iced Earth], Blaze Bailey [ex. Iron Maiden], Michael Vescera [ex. Loudness, Yngwie Malmsteen], Markus Grosskopf [Helloween], Amanda Sommerville [Avantasia], Matt Smith [Theocracy] among others.
German Pascual, a relatively new presence on the Swedish metal scene, unveils his first solo album A New Beginning. Pascual was the last vocalist for Narnia on their last album Course of a Generation, and recently has shared vocal duties with former Narnia vocalist Christian Liljegren on his Divinefire project. For his solo project, he has enlisted some talented fellows to assist him including guitarist Carl-Johan "CJ" Grimmark (Narnia, Fires Of Babylon, Rob Rock, FullForce) and bassists Per Schelander (Pain of Salvation, Royal Hunt) and Raphael Dafras (Almah, Seven Horizons).
