AUSTRALIAN POWERHOUSE LAURA WILDE IS CRASHING TED NUGENT’S NORTH AMERICAN TOUR – JUNE 2012
The ferocious debut—Sold My Soul—from Laura Wilde, the 22-year old hard rock import from Down Under (Melbourne, to be exact) was enough to land her on the upcoming Ted Nugent tour. Wilde is exactly that. She’s a hard-charging take-no-prisoners balls-to-the-wall rocker who wrote it all, sang it all, played lead guitar, bass guitar and drums on this, her gritty, powerful debut. Totally fearless, citing such influences as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Joan Jett, and Dave Grohl, Wilde intends to knock out crowds on her leg of the upcoming tour.

"Are you ready Steve? Uh-huh. Andy? Yeah. Mick? Okay. Alright fellas, let's go!"
It started with a press release arriving at Dangerdog HQ: (The) Sweet were releasing a new album of cover songs. There was name I hadn't heard in decades. Much to my surprise The Sweet still exists. It seems guitarist Andy Scott has been reanimating the band in some form since 1984. (It appears that bassist Steve Priest, another original member, leads an alternate Sweet out of Los Angeles). Scott and company cut SweetLife in 2002. Now, here's the real kicker: all this brought back a singular memory. I saw Sweet open for Foghat in 1978 at the Hershey Park Arena in Pennsylvania.
Steel Assassin: WWII – Metal of Honor 2012
May 7, 2012 02:03
Heavy Metal |Power Metal
Massachusetts' metal warriors Steel Assassin have been at their craft, with more than a few bumps along the way, since the early Eighties. After better than 30 years it's hard believe they only released two full length albums, both in the last six years, the latest being 2012's WWII - Metal of Honor.Steel Assassin: a tank beats an SUV any day. As you would suspect from the title, there's a theme to this album. Guitarist Kevin Curran, an avid student and reader of World War II literature, wrote the songs about various aspects of the infamous conflict. This is hardly uncommon in metal, the masters Iron Maiden have done it as have newer acts like Sabaton.

My first memory goes back in the 60's! A beautiful book illustrated in black and white about the mysterious King Arthur… For a child this character is the best! As all the boys at the same age, I dreamed to be this Child King that can brandish Excalibur. The girls are much more stupid! What an idea wanting to be a princess in love with two guys on the same time, ah la la it is really a girl thing! (Laughs)
MARTIN BARRE FROM JETHRO TULL: My middle name is Lancelot so as a school child I was very familiar with King Arthur legend and I knew a lot about his story, and I 've read it in the past but I haven't heard about it since. It's a very strong story, very present with its castle, its domain in north Devon supposedly.

On April 17, the unsung hero of working class rock and AOR, John Taglieri, released an EP called “Lucky #9” (Leap Dog Music). In his own words, he states, “I approached this EP a little differently. Being my ninth release, I think I am more in tune with what I wanted to say as an artist. I wrote songs that really meant a lot to me right now in life and tried to tell stories that would connect. Using my new studio and working with Lee [Lee J. Turner, who has production credits that include Darius Rucker, Jewel, Leann Rimes, and Bo Bice] again was awesome as well. There was a great vibe throughout the whole recording process. I'm very proud of 'Lucky #9', and I hope people enjoy it.”

Huntress – Spell Eater 2012
May 4, 2012 00:00
Heavy Metal |Power Metal
When I first heard "Eight of Swords" months before Huntress signed with Napalm, I knew there was something special about this band. The song nicely captured the spirit of metal as it was originally intended. It is a modern blast of traditional/power thrash with the “white witch” Jill Janus at the helm, who can belt it with the best female singers. With "Spell Eater," my suspicions were indeed confirmed, as what we have here is a stunning debut for all fans of traditional metal.

Good!
I really do not know how many times I heard this record in the past year and a half, which are many, but I still remember the feeling I was the first time I did. And he could not understand the Italians blew me head with that "Play with u $ $" tardasen five years to re-record an album. At the time they began the strains of "sun Dyin 'I saw it clear, I clear the reason for the delay.
With a first listening to the album notes that have worked hard in each of the eleven major themes that make up this "Mind the Pain", getting her to become my bible of Punk & Roll, as already discussed above, reinforcing my belief that Cagliari is one of the best bands in the genre today and five years without recording was because they wanted all of the items were perfect. Judge for yourself.
