Angband are a PowerProg Metal band, formed in 2004 in Tehran by Mahyar Dean a classically trained musician and author who is well known in the metal world for writing two books about Death and Testament.
Saved from the Truth is Angband’s third album in a relatively short space of time and you would think they should clearly be in their groove. Seasons of my Pain starts with a beautiful acoustic intro that shows Dean’s classical roots and promises so much before we’re introduced to a horribly muddy slice of riffs and double bass drumming that lead to some fairly lifeless plodding vocals. The whole song just feels flat after such a wonderful intro and I’m already fearing what lies ahead for the remainder of the album. The recording quality of the track, intro aside, is pretty poor with the vocals and drums sounding very empty and flat while the guitar tone is lacking definition.
Having Joe Satriani in your corner lauding your skills is quite the credential. Of Brad Russell, Satriani has said, "Brad Russell is an amazing bass player and totally outrageous musician!" Nice.Educated at the University of Miami school of music, Russell has performed with a who's who of great musicians including Mariah Carey, Clarence Clemmons, Greg Allman, Joe Walsh, Neil Young, Rick Derringer, Neal Schon, Joe Satriani, Billy Preston and more. What he does with his bass most guitarist wish they could do with their six-strings. His debut album Let's Hear It! displays Russell's exceptional lead bass guitar rock.

Currently the band is preparing for the upcoming concert, as the Legends of Rock, and especially for his "Road To Hell Tour 2012/2013" would start after the summer.
Quebec, Canada-based metallers AETERNAM recently entered Badass Studios with engineer Jean-François "Jef" Fortin to begin recording their new album, "Moongod", for a late 2012 release via Galy Records.
Commented the band, "The album will contain nine songs plus a short and wicked intro. As far as it goes, there's still a lot of blast beats and brutal stuff, but the music is way more epic and melodic, really more groovy and let's say... dangerous? Lyrics deal a lot with religions (again), but the focus is more on pre-Islamic rites and actual stuff that is going on right now in the Middle East. Nevertheless, there's still some new ideas and concepts; we do even have a song that talks about Mayan culture! Crazy stuff!"
