Swedish prog rockers Anekdoten return after an eight year hiatus with their sixth album Until All The Ghosts Are Gone. The album will be released on 10th April 2015 through their own label, Virta in Europe and North America and Disk Union in Japan. Vinyl, CD and digital. The band has delivered a moody sonic adventure with penetrating melodies from singer/guitarist Nicklas Barker, evocative mellotron soundscapes from Anna Sofi Dahlberg, underpinned by Jan Erik Liljeström’s grinding bass and Peter Nordins’ defined drums and sizzling cymbals.
There’s guest appearances from old friends Per Wiberg (Ex-Opeth) on organ and Gustav Nygren (New Rose) on sax as well as two Englishmen, virtuoso flautist Theo Travis (Steven Wilson, Robert Fripp, David Sylvian) and guitarist Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, All About Eve, The Saints).
Jan Erik says: “When we started out we had the ambition to take things to a higher level and I believe we succeeded. Listening to one song will take you to quite a few different places and listening through the whole thing is quite a journey. I feel this is music to get excited about.”
The album was recorded by Hans Fredriksson and mixed by Grammy award winning producer, Simon Nordberg in Stockholm with the band.
