Recorded live in front of a small audience by The Album Network and WNEW-FM September 13, 1991 at Electric Lady Studios in New York City for a radio broadcast on Halloween, October 31, 1991. Some of the recording was used as bonus for the limited edition 2 CD release of The Last Temptation.
The studio also known as Electric Ladyland opened on 26th August 1970 and was founded by Jimi Hendrix and his manager Mike Jeffery. They had invested jointly in the purchase of the Generation Club in Greenwich Village in 1968 planning to reopen the club, but the plan was abandoned because the local mafia added pressure for fees. It was an unwelcome association, and since commercial studio fees for Electric Ladyland sessions were so lofty, the pair instead decided to convert the space to a highly specialized and custom-built recording facility.
