Swedish outfit ADECENCE was initially a one-man project started by drummer and songwriter Ludvig Alfvén during the pandemic of 2020. Later, this developed more into a full band with the addition of Linus Johansson

(vocals), Henrik Westergren (guitar), Fredrik Svensson Carlström (bass) and Jacob Werner (guitar, keyboards), all experienced musicians, producers and songwriters for others such as Bruce Kulick, Lordi, Peter Jöback, and more.
While all ADECENCE members are young dudes, they still have a strong connection to ’80s music and culture. The group’s music is driven by solid riffs and timeless revolving around the classic melodic hard rock genre.
After some successful singles – the fun ”The Devil Wears Nada” featuring former Lordi member Sampsa Astala on drums spent 15 weeks on Swedish Rock Radio playlist – ADECENCE are releasing their debut album titled “Postalgia“.
Despite its dodgy cover art, ”Postalgia” includes some really good melodic hard rock tunes in the classy Scandinavian style. So put aside the cover, and enjoy this new melodic hard rock band with AOR flourishes / keys in the ’80s fashion.

“Postalgia” is very nicely put together, with smooth vocals / harmonies, clean elegant guitar work and sparkling keys all over, varied, and well written.
Among the highlights we mention “Patient Zero”, “Dear Marilyn” (a favorite, very AOR), “Juliet”, the aforementioned “The Devil Wears Nada”, and “Late Night Talking” inspired by legendary horror movie classics such as ”Halloween”, ”The Shining”, ”Hush”, etc.

Released almost silently, ADECENCE’s ”Postalgia” is one of the best debuts of the year from the Scandinavian indie Melodic Hard Rock / AOR scene, self-released however very well produced.
Don’t miss this band / album ‘cos the bad cover art…
