As requested, here’s another very good album from the legendary Long Island Records ‘Rock Classic series’: EYES OF WISE featuring LANCE. Eyes Of Wise was formed in the ’80s by songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lance Matthew. The band included bass player Don Schiff and drummer John Snider – both from the Eddie Money Band, also having worked / recorded with Lana Lane, Stan Bush, etc.

Lance himself performed & recorded as session musician on many records / commercials as well, but he was focused on his own music. That’s why ”EYES OF WISE featuring LANCE”, the album from the combo, includes his name on the tin, as Schiff / Snider were pretty busy touring with Eddie Money. Not surprisingly, the album features several session guests, especially on drums & bass.

”EYES OF WISE featuring LANCE” is a very special record, sound-wise easy to the ears melodic rock but with an extra spice: a progressive touch. Think early ’80s Kansas, their most radio-friendly era. Not all songs doesn’t follow the classic melodic rock structure of verse-chorus-verse, there’s room for atmospheres and developed melodies.
A very interesting album mostly recorded in the ’80s, very well produced. ”EYES OF WISE featuring LANCE” is one of the hardest to find Long Island Records ROCK CLASSIC series CD’s.
Highly Recommended
