Spanish melodic hard rockers STRANGERS released three interesting album (mixed & mastered by Erik Martensson) and now have singed a deal with Frontiers Music. ”Boundless” is the title of their upcoming album wich marks a clear evolution in their sound: heavier and more energetic yet deeply rooted in emotional melodies. Tracks like “Still The One” and “Worth A Shot” perfectly embrace our new fresh identity, modern, powerful, and full of attitude.
Straight away opener ‘Into The Night’, front-woman Celia Barloz reminds you of several quality female rock’n’roll singers, this one having definite hints of Pat Benatar about it, with AOR waves and a strong solo in the middle section. ‘Enemy’ is next, the arrangement is heavier still very commercial.
Simply, and essentially, Strangers plays classic melodic hard rock, perhaps with some edge in the guitar lines, but consistently wrapped in AOR accessibility. Consistency might be the key word to their music. Across the album there is consistency in fine songwriting with emphasis upon song melody, vocal harmony, rhythm and groove, catchy choruses, and inspired guitar solos. Ms. Barloz’ voice and vocal arrangements are notable and impressive (she’s a pro vocal-coach as well) adding a singular added dimension to the Strangers’ sound.
