On February 10th, the new project Lace with singer Davide Merletto (Daedalus, Planethard) in the lead will release the debut EP "On Your Way". Also participating are names such as Roland Grapow (Helloween, Masterplan), John Macaluso (Malmsteen, Symphony X) and Stefano Lionetti (Lionville).
LACE is the new band of Italian vocalist Davide Merletto, former singer of Daedalus and melodic hard rockers Planethard. Davide is involved into many projects (few months ago he was hired by English prog-rock band Coalition for the recordings of their upcoming album), but his desire of many years was to record a classic AOR / Melodic Rock album with that sumptuous ’80s sound production.
The result is LACE’s debut “On Your Way“, a collection of dynamic rockers with the Eighties imprint all over. For the recording Davide got help from talented drummer John Macaluso (Malmsteen, Symphony X), who play on the album an also co-writes.
With a tight band line up and some star guests such as Helloween / Masterplan guitarist Roland Grapow (who previously mixed one album for Davide’s band Daedalus) this is a very good punchy AOR record rich in melody and catchy choruses.
