Baltimore Hard Rock act Child’s Play, founded in 1984. The band's lineup began to change when Phil Wiser left in 1987, resulting in the addition of Idzi on bass. Larry Hinshaw later left the band with Brian Jack (Brian Giacubeno) stepping up to lead vocals.

For years impossible to find cheaper than U$S 200, now has been reissued / remastered “Long Way“, the second and final album from Baltimore melodic rockers CHILD’S PLAY. Formed in 1984, the band released an indie cassette getting great acceptation, resulting in the band being signed by major label Chrysalis.
Child’s Play recorded their debut album ‘Rat Race’ in 1990 produced by renowned Howard Benson, spawning three singles with the title track video getting MTV rotation.
As happened with many American melodic rock acts, Child’s Play were dropped by their recording label two years after, however the band keep together and released this second effort “Long Way” by themselves, produced by band founders guitarist Nicky Kay and drummer John Allen.

“Long Way” feature new vocalist Tommy McRae who replaced founding member Brian Jack, who left in 1991 to pursue a solo career. Musically the band retains ita melodic rock core but this time more bluesy, with a hard rock / classic rock feeling as well.
Despite released by themselves, “Long Way” had four successful singles, each of these becoming a number one requested song on regional FM radio.

Released in a time when Melodic Rock was already out of fashion (for the industry) in America, “Long Way” is a really enjoyable slice of timeless US rock plenty of melodies on well written songs, carefully produced with a crisp sound quality.
