Glastonbury Fayre is a musical documentary film directed by Peter Neil, about the Glastonbury Festival, England, which took place from 20 to 24 June 1971. The film was shown in May 1972 and then was forgotten. Only now this film has been restored and digitized by incredible efforts.
There are practically no complaints about the quality of this release, although more than 30 years have passed. There was another DVD release by Akarma, but it was of poor quality and was copied from VHS tape. This time, the colors are true and deep. Even the construction stage of the pyramid and the surrounding areas are vibrant and with deep true color. The director paid great attention to the atmosphere prevailing at this event and around the festival life. You will really plunge into the era of the mythical 70s, with its spirit and mood. Hare Krishna processions with bongos and drums, stoned hippies with their bizarre dances, poetry, theater, spontaneous entertainment, all this is in this film.
But the most valuable thing is the participants and performers of the wonderful music of that time, who have now become stars and legends of rock.
