”The Hottest Show On Earth Tour” was a concert tour by KISS in support of their 19th studio album, Sonic Boom. It is essentially the North American leg of the Sonic Boom Over Europe Tour, itself a continuation of the Kiss Alive/35 World Tour that started in 2008.
As with previous concert tours, live recordings of every show were sold after the show at the venue by SymfyLive, officially approved by KISS.
KISS also played in Mexico for the first time since 2004 during this tour, and this ”The Hottest Show On Earth Tour” was captured in Guadalajara on Oct 02, 2010.
The sound quality is excellent, A MUST HAVE for KISS fans and collectors.

The show starts with “Modern Day Delilah” which was a great opener, a new song at the time and among the best from Sonic Boom. They go into 3 early classic Kiss songs with “Cold Gin,” “Let Me Go, Rock ‘N’ Roll” and “Firehouse” which go over well with the crowd. Gene sounds very good on “Let Me Go…” and Tommy is ripping it on the guitar. A great high energy song.
You then get the 2nd and last song from ‘Sonic Boom’, “Say Yeah” (with Paul’s Walmart plug since that album was only released in Walmart and was their current album at the time). The song sounded great and I am glad I have some live stuff from that album now.
It’s cool to hear this 80’s song they dusted off for this tour, “Crazy, Crazy Nights”. Up next is another classic with “Calling Dr. Love” and Gene hasn’t lost anything.
“Shock Me” comes on and I am quite surprised. It is with Tommy Thayer on vocals and I think he does an amazing job. It isn’t Ace, but who cares. He really does a great job vocally and the guitar riffs and solo are fantastic.
Speaking of solo, the Guitar solo and Drum solo are up and they are done simultaneously. Both Tommy and Eric share the solo by playing together and then taking their turns being front and center. It was awesome.
Let me tell you, Kiss wouldn’t sound as good today if it wasn’t for these two. Say what you will about them being in make-up, but they kick some major ass.
Gene gets the reins for “I Love It Loud” and the song is just that…Loud! Paul sing “Love Gun” all by his lonesome, then he asks the crowd if they should play and of course they say yeah! The band tears it up with fan favorite “Detroit Rock City”.
For the encore there’s more classics like “Lick It Up”, “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and of course, “Rock and Roll All Nite”
”The Hottest Show On Earth” rocks. It is just Kiss doing their thing which is awesome. The recording sound is top notch, the band is playing well and you can just sit back and soak it all in and enjoy every second of it.
