Be As One, some people will recognize this band as CHEW, is a short lived hard rock band from Gorinchem, Netherlands act between 1993 to 1995. The band fronted by ex-vocalist of Princess (Heavy/Speed metal band) Wilfried Versteeg. In 1993 they released their only work, a mini album contain four guitar driven tracks well produced and performed and came out via JD & JW Records. Be As One had all the right ingredients to make it big. First, ex-Vengeance members Arjen Lucassen and Leon Goewie are part of this recording.
Next, one of the best producers Oscar Holleman known for his brilliant production of the Vengeance (Holland) release and the awesome Veralin, Ayreon, Helloise, Within Temptation too! Oscar also played in Bodine as well. With all this talent, Be As One was already destined to be huge. As good as Vengeance, these guys looked cool and even sound like Vengeance. Even though it’s only 4 tracks, every track is awesome with impressive guitar work. Released in extremely small limited quantities, their cd was never sold in stores. It was exclusively used by the band to get signed to a major label and it’s extremely rare to be found. If you like bands in the vein of Vengeance, Less Dress and Blue Thunder. don’t miss these guys.
