JAVAN was German a melodic hard rock band release one album back in 1991 and gone as quickly as they had come. The album contains twelve tracks with hard edged riffing, solid and catchy melodies and enough crafted solos that boost the music all together bringing it up at a heavy metal level in parts.
Songs like the opener “Moon” having great chorus and melodious keys, the titled song “Somewhere In The Night” which propably is the hit of the album, with great riffs and powerful chorus reminds Def Leppard, but also the keyboard driven “Vicious Roumors” and the hard rockin’ “Can’t Get Enough” are definetely the big highlights of the record. Special attention should be given to “Dreams” an amazing melodic acoustic ballad.
A very good riff driven melodic hard rock album, that need more attention. For fans of Domain and 48 Crash. Singer Bernd Martin since 1996 sings in the band “Pubcop”.
