This 5-piece hard rock band theFALLEN from York have already impressed HTF with their live presence a few years back on their tour with Heaven’s Basement, and with their brand new album being released earlier this week, we’re itching to find out whether they can do the same on CD.

‘Ignite The Fire’ kicks off the album to a spookily climatic start, with the use of electronics and synthesisers to create an album battlefield-like primer, shortly followed by the heavy double bass and thudding guitars.

Then ‘Judgement Day’ begins, and the wild 80?s sounding guitars kick in, with its melodic riffs and the crash of the drum setting the ultimate party mood. Vocalist Johnny Fallen adds a mixture of Jettblack, Heaven’s Basement and The Treatment influences to the band. With a tad of Avenged Sevenfold in there to top it all off. With the reckless guitars and raunchy baselines, it’s hard not to like this album.

With the electrifying guitars of ‘Dirty Little Dead Girl’ and the harsh drum beats, this is questionably one of the best songs on the album. From the get go, the wild and wicked beats blare out your speakers like a heavy void of ferociousness. The sexually induced lyrics taunted by Johnny play around in your head all day, “Dead girl, dead girl, lying on my bed girl, I know you want it why you looking at my neck girl.” Saucy.

Slowing it down a notch is the track ‘Distance’ with the elegant guitars and heartfelt lyrics; this song really captures the powerful voice of Johnny and the loud power ballad-like choruses. The guitar duo of Richard Reilly and James Langley are flawless, with each note perfectly plucked, especially in tracks such as‘Starting Over’ and ‘Cuts Like Glass.’

So not only can they impress on the stage but they have nailed in on record. With every millisecond played on this album you can’t help but bang your head along to the beat. For all those thrill-seekers out there, HTFrecommend this album to you for all your party needs. There is not an ounce of fault in this album, for the fans of Avenged Sevenfold and avid modern day hard rock, you better have this album in your collection, if you don’t want to fall behind in the times.
