PRAYER are a Melodic Rock/AOR band hailing from Oulu, Northern Finland. “Wrong Address” is their brand new debut album which includes 11 catchy and hookladen songs with lots of double guitars and great keyboards.
All songs have been written by Tapani Tikkanen, who is the driving force behind Prayer. Tapani´s musical career began in the early eighties with “IC-Rock” and continued later on with “Tanna”. Together with those bands he did hundreds of gigs all over Finland but after several albums and more than 20 000 records sold, it was time for a break. Still, Tapani kept on writing songs all the time, for example three albums for the craziest football club in the world, F.C.Rainbow and a solo single entitled “Everyone’s a Winner”. So, that rock´n´roll heart still was beating… and all the time in the back of his mind, there was this dream about the band with professional musicianship, great melodies…it was like a PRAYER waiting for an answer!
To make a long story short, after a few demos and tryouts, Tapani contacted his friend, keyboard-wizard Jari Huvila in the Summer of 2003 and to talk about forming a band: PRAYER. Jari was interested immediately, and he knew just the right guys with just the right attitude and the pieces started to fall together: Markku and Frank, two outstanding guitar players, Jaakko, a bass virtuoso, and Eki, the drummer with great skill, technique and style. All of them are studied musicians and have a lot of experience from different projects and cover bands. With these joined forces, the recordings started in September 2004 at Soundmix Studios in Oulu. This is an album for you out there, with a real Rock n’ Roll Heart. Your PRAYER has been answered.
