On January 15 releases the American band Farmikos with, among others, guitarist Joe Holmes (Ozzy Osbourne, David Lee Roth), a self-titled debut album. Los Angeles-based Farmikos is a hard rock band that has not only reinterpreted the music of the ‘70s but has built a fire beneath the heavy sounds of that era. They have forged those gloriously organic classic rock elements in a crucible with progressively melodic influences to create a hybrid music that is both backward-looking and forward-seeking.
Following that philosophy, the band actually tracked and mixed directly to analog tape—the way the iconic masters did it four decades ago—and then transferred all the music to digital for editing. Joe Holmes, Robbie Locke and Brent Hoffort share a common chemistry—the sound of breaking down old walls and building new ones.
